Forró is dance music that originates from the Sertão, the desert of North eastern Brazil. The people living there have got very little but what they have got are roaring dance parties that often last all through the night. The Forró is an addictive musical style with fast, crude lyrics, a panting accordion and typical Brazilian percussion.
The São Paulo born singer Miniká Demirdjian has celebrated the Forró in the Sertão itself, her interpretation can be characterized as exuberant, contagious and humorous. Together with accordion player Ivan Greg Santos Pereira , guitarist and cavaquinho player Henk Janssen, bass player Tiê Fernandes Pereira and both percussionists Matthias Haffner and Marco Santos, a performance of Zabumba gets a real „Forrozão“, a big party!
EXTRA: - Before the show you can follow a dance workshop held by Juliana Braga and Renato Bertolino (18.30 hrs) / free with ticket / reservation obliged.
